DC universeDC selling strategies are being discussed in an interesting article on comics debris.

In last week’s “Permanent Damage” column, Steven Grant takes the historical approach to analyzing the issues surrounding DC Comics’ mainstream superhero line, which include, but are not limited to: underwhelming sales, erratic editorial management, dissatisfaction among the existing fanbase and a failure to attract casual readers.

If I might offer my perspective here, I’d say that the solutions of making the stories more accessible as well as no more old continuity over in a parallel universe are both very good ideas.

I’m not a new reader but I can’t follow so many story lines in order to understand what’s going on with the comics that I do love,

Something new is needed there is no doubt about it and it seems that comics readers are starting to say it to DC in the simple act of buying less DC comics.
