I suppose I can understand why you might've thought it was good, but I disagreed in a post over in rec.arts.sf.superman (yeah, this is both me being too lazy to retype, and plugging the other group - get over it <G>.

I agree with your episode evaluation and I too watch little Batman Beyond (only the pilot episode). But on whole, I thought it was a good episode. You have to remember that we're dealing with the television & movie entertainment industry here so just a mere mention of 'Justice League' in a network show is truly amazing.

I DID hate Superman's voice in this episode.

'Amazing' to hear a mention of the Justice League, eh? How quickly we forget 15 years of 'SuperFriends'...

BTW, I noticed over on the 'Ain't It Cool News' site that Cartoon Network has supposedly green-lighted a 'Justice League' series by Bruce Timm. Not sure on the membership, but this could be interesting.

you're right. I was (and still am a BIG fan, though I do like Wendy & Marvin as well as the Wonder Twerps.

I was trying to relate how HORRIBLE these film and TV show makers CHANGE things; particularly comic book stories. Joel S & Batman, NOW Spiderman's suit in the upcoming SPIDERMAN film.

Though I DO understand the Xmen costume change, I STILL think they should've at the very least wore some sort of head gear like the originals. But this is a SUPERMAN discussion and I really like the Superman movies.

S P O I L E R S

S P O I L E R S

'This isn't the first time superman has gone rouge, so I made sure I'd be ready if it ever happened again. I've always hoped I'd never have to use it.' -Bruce

That's the line, so it seems clear Bruce never used it and it would make sense that he was talking about Legacy.

I figure there are four ways this could go,

a, Supes is being controlled by someone. b. This is an imposter, (maybe the real supes is still wearing the blue and red) c. The video implicating Superman was tampered with d. he's a traitor

from what Kid's WB said 'Batman ferrets out the traitor, and the reason for his treasonous behavior. It all comes down to a one-on-one battle between Batman and one of the greatest heroes of all time.' It looks like #1 is where it will go, maybe brainiac is behind it all. any thoughts on who else the real villian could be. -Mario

More like 20 years of SuperFriends reruns. SuperFriends was what, maybe two season's worth of episodes...Hey, I got an idea, let's look it up:

IMDB lists Super Friends as being from 1973, so that's almost 30 years ago! It also lists the show has having been on ABC from 1973 to the 75/76 season. So say three years (73/74 season, 74/75, and 75/76). Animation series typically do fewer episodes than live action; maybe 13 to 15 episodes a year. A grand total of what, maybe 45 episodes. Repeated endlessly for the last 25 years. Sounds like someone's idea of hell to me.

Still rumor at this point. 'Word on the street' (to quote the AICN article) isn't the same as a network press announcement. Still, we can hope! JLA on tv would be cool if Timm was involved. Hell, anything with Timm involved would be cool!

OK, this is my theory. Notice how we never see Lois in the episode? or the different voice Superman has? It's because HE'S NOT SUPERMAN! you see someone killed lois and Superman's trying to find out who! Wait until next week, where Terry will confront the REAL Superman at the hoover dam! of course, by the end of the week evertyhing will be hunkydory.

I suspect Inque is controlling Superman..... As for the voice, Tim Daly is too busy with the Fugitive to bother right now...

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Don't know enough about Inque to have an opinion.

Daly may be busy now, but what about a year ago, when this was likely recorded?

No, the traitor in the JLA was active before Superman ever encountered Inque- that was why Superman interrupted batman's fight with Inque in the first place, to seek batman's help finding the traitor (besides which, Inque has never demonstrated the ability to 'control' anybody)

My theory is that the traitor is Warhawk- the reason being that characters almost never die in cartoons, so his death must have been faked to frame Superman

As for the voice, Tim Daly is
