I just got the Hunter/Prey Graphic novel. I was kind of disapointed, but I don't follow Supes as much as I used to. I have a couple of questions. 1. Is that type of behavior acceptable for a Linear Man? 2. Is the mother box something they made up for the story, or have we seen one before? 3. Is Darkseid really that all powerful? 4. Is there any previous precident for Kryptonians using sword weapons, or was this a subtle Star Wars rip off? Thanks for any responses.

I don't think so. I thought Waverider's involvement here was a violation of the Linear Man ethic, made worse by the fact that he did it for story purposes.
They've been around since Jack Kirby made them up around 1970.
Seems to be, but his power levels vary according to the needs of the story in which he is being featured.
I don't think it's a Star Wars ripoff. (The swordplay in Star Wars is an Errol Flynn ripoff, anyway.) Superman has rarely used a weapon against an enemy, and I don't think he's ever used one as lame as a sword (which proved to be ineffective in any case).
