Movies...

Now seriously... is there any chance we're gonna see a new movie soon? Or someday? What are the rumors? I hate to see the X-Men, Spidey. Batman XII hit the sreen sooner than the old big guy o' steel!!!

If the X-Men movie is a big hit, Then you will see a new Superman, Batman and even Wonder Woman movie. Strange as it seems that a DC movie depends on a marvel movie, I think it is true. If the x-Men movie suceds then Comic book movies are hot once more and it will be full steam ahead. That is what i think.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm willing to be surprised, but I just don't see the world of the X-Men as one that will translate well into live action. Visually, much of what would go on in an X-Men movie will look incredibly strange and might be hard to buy into.

And frankly, it would probably be better if the current Superman project fell out of development and then someone tried to make a new Superman movie again in a few years. I'm not sure I could handle a bad Superman movie at this point.

Before you buy.

Isn't it stupid for the owners of the movie rights sit on a quality product just because they don't know their asses from holes in the ground?

If they'd just stick to quality storytelling rather than screw it up with a whole bunch of marketing crapola, they'd be able to make great movies (using any actor they damn well please) and sell a buncha junk with no problem.

Makes you wonder if any of the honchos have ever actually seen the first Superman or Batman movies.

Well, just thought I'd vent...what do you all think?

PS I STILL think Chris Reeve could make for a strong cameo appearance. You know, Superman gets knocked for a loop, and almost beaten, lands in front of a man in a wheelchair who begs him to get up and not quit.

The current Peters/Burton (?)/Cage Superman film project should be killed. WB should wait five years, and then bring in a creative team that actually respects the character to make a decent movie.

And please, don't use the Death & Return story. Create an original tale that's faithful to the books.
