She's reminding herself why she is going to all the hassel of being in the middle of a terrorist hostage negotiation, those prizes are her motivation and what's kleeping her calm. -Mario Steam0235

Also, keep in mind that the first film established Lois as a terrible speller. (Perry tells her there's only one 'p' in 'rapist,' e.g.) She may be practicing.

Aside from the 'she's nervous, so she spells it out' point that's been made, the joke here was that (i) a terrorist hostage-taking would merit a Pulitzer Prize but (ii) somehow coming out of this alive when it involves a *nuclear* incident would merit a Nobel Prize. It's right after she finds out there's a nuclear device that she 'promotes' herself from a Pulitzer (normally the most you'd expect a journalist could win) to Nobel.

Nobel Prize? For a journalist? Nope. Unless the DCU has different standards for literature.

Given what happens later in the movie, perhaps she was going for the Nobel Piece Prize.

She was nervous and trying to keep her mind off of being on the bottom of an elevator on top of the Eiffel Tower. As for the nobel prize, she was trying to expose/stop a terrorist act so maybe that could earn her some kind of nobel prize. I know its usually for International figures, but maybe for Peace?

I've always thought that she was trying to calm herself, but because she can't spell 'Pulitzer', she spells the easier 'Nobel'.
