We all die hard Superman fans know that when our hero first appeared way back in 1939 he wasn't so powerful as he was in the silver age or even now. He could not fly [ only leap 1/8 of a mile, could be hurt by a bursting shell and gas.] There wase all die hard Superman fans know that when our hero first appeared way back in 1939 he wasn't so powerful as he was in the silver age or even now. He could not fly [ only leap 1/8 of a mile, could be hurt by a bursting shell and gas.] There was no kryptonite. [ invented for the radio show.] My question is what power did Superman have back when he first appeared that he didn't have in the silver age or now?

Are you sure you're not confusing original Supes with Superman IV's 'rebuild-the-Great-Wall-of-China-by-looking-at-it'' vision?
Vartox (who dearly hopes there wasn't a precedent for that crap...)

I watched it on WGN two days ago, and I think one of the better things about the movie is Christopher Reeve. I know, that sounds stupid, he plays Superman and it's about Superman. But I think he's the best actor in the movie. Even the stupidness of Superman III didn't stop him from being a great actor.
