I had to put the question mark on there to keep from overtly exciting others like myself, but is there ANY word on when the first film will be relased on DVD? It seems almost sinful that all the Baman films have been DVDed while this one has been overlooked!

Good news, I've read that Superman: The Movie is being made in DVD format as we speak, and is being filled with the extra scenes that were included in the ABC showing of the movie. The DVD should be released this fall, so there's not that much longer to wait!

OK, Superman: The Movie and Reboot's third season will both be released on DVD this fall. Guess I'm gonna have to buy one for sure

according to www.thedigitalbits.com, superman is in fact undergoing restoration for DVD, and supposedly there will be a box set of superman 1-4 by year's end. and for the record, their rumor mill page usually tends to be RIGHT.

Hmm. I just visited their rumor mill page and did a search for 'Superman' - no mention of it.

i'm not quite sure where you searched, but just go to http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html, and scroll down to 3/9. it's in that entry, same paragraph as goodfellas and the exorcist.
