No, but the stuff sure bred like heck... Y'know, for all the Kryptonite of varying qualities that ended up on Earth, not to mention every second bit of trash that Jor-El threw out, ye've really got to wonder if Krypton wasn't (A) a *really* enormous planet, and ( right Glendamn next to Earth.

Maybe not. If the cape was utterly ineverythingable, and the pocket within could close up, they might have been safe. I'm not sure, being a bit fuddly on just what invulnerability gives us here.

I think he did, come to that. Aye, yeah. I just reread a stack of Silver Age stuff over the past few days, and I remember that scoring a mention somewhere. It was a Superboy story, if I recall. So, if nothing else that explained why Clark was *always* in that red sweater and white shirt.

The robots - they were a worry. Ever notice how they seemed to be completely sentient in their own right (especially back in Superboy's day - that boy just *loved* the robots), yet Clark had no worries at all about keeping the poor bastards in a cupboard all day, or knockin' 'em to bits if he felt like it?

I think it was made out at one point that even his X-ray vision just makes his eyes really really hot.

I think it was explained that Kryptonite was not indestructible as a by-product from the explosion. Otherwise everything else became super-energized, or something, from the rays of earth's yellow sun....it was a good idea to explain the invulnerability of Superman's costume, but it did have some logic loopholes....

I think they explained that there was a space warp that led right to our solar system.

His Clark Kent outfit wasn't actually indestructible, but it was treated to be burn resistant... I think it was shown being destroyed on many occasions..

I think it was the same spacewarp that brought Kal-El's rocket. (i.e., the rocket was able to travel the distance between Krypton and Earth by creating a spacewarp, which was opened long enough for a large portion of Kryptonite to follow through.
