thanx to all of those people who helped me figure out the bloodwynd mystery. as you can see i am quite a while behind on the comics and i have just a few more questions.

i have just got up to the superman: transformed season and he has just transformed into the (and i am quoting here) 'THE MAN BEYOND TOMORROW' in other words the dodgy electricity being. now i have had a look at the covers of the most recent stuff and i have a few question could anybody help me out please....

1a, why did he change ? 1b, was it anything to do with kandor and tolos ?

2, what is all of the fuss about the smegging 'medalian of the damned' ? 2b, is it some 'haerie' (did i spell that right ? misas people) weapon ?

3, when is super going to change back ? 3b, is doomsday going to attack he while he is in this state ?

4, what is all of this stuff about SUPERMAN RED/SUPERMAN BLUE ? 4b. does the Sr/Sb section mean that they can keep the old superman (Red yellow and blue, the ones we all love) and the new one at the same time ?

thanx a lot for helping me if you can

The 'official' explanation is... was there an offcial explanation? I don't think there was.

A Red Dwarf fan! The medallion of the damned was connected to the Millennium giants... I think. It's been so long since I've read these books.

He already did, two years ago.

No, but he did show up in late '98 in 'The Doomsday Wars'.

Superman needed to be in two places in once, and since he was an energy being, he was able to. He split into a calm, rational blue version and a brash, wisecracking red version.

As you'll eventually see, the red and blue versions will sacrifice their energies to stop the Millennium Giants, and will be remerged into the classic Superman.

Just curious BTW, where do you live, that you're 2/12 years behind?

Jeez, those stories were like 3 years ago.

Superman got split into Red/Blue, which sped up the coming on the millenium giants. When SR/SB saved the earth from the giants, they became the original Superman again, in Superman Forever.

It was just one of those DC corporate decisions that make you wonder What The Hell Were They Thinking? I'm not saying that the characters are sacred and that you shouldn't shake things up now and then. Look at what they did to Gotham in No Man's Land. But screwing things up just for the sake of screwing things up isn't the way to go. And it doesn't even really have any effect on the character, the only lasting effect of the transformation is that it gave Strange Visitor someone to look like. (Who's Strange Visitor? I hear you asking. Trust me, you don't want to know.)

Ok i get your point. batman nomansland was some of the best stuff i have read of batmans in a longtime. all of the stuff from Contagion, legacy, cataclysm, nomansland books one and two were brilliant (thats as far as i have got with the graphic novels). some of the DC superheroes when you give them a shakeup look better than ever though... just look at barbara gorden when the joker paralised her we thought that would be the end of batgirl but she came back and barbara came back as ORACLE and is now more helpfull than ever (i do miss seing her in the tight suit though) one more point... Who or what the F**K is strange visitor ??!?! thanx a lot

Strange Visitor was a woman named Sharon who used to go to school with Superman. She somehow gained Electric Blue Superman powers and wound up wearing a version of the EBS costume.

Strange Visitor was also the name of a story arc in late '99 with dialogue so painful that it made Claremont at his worst look like Shakespeare.
